Ear Trumpet Labs Unveils New Condenser Microphone At NAMM Global Media Day

Boutique microphone company Ear Trumpet Labs unveils the latest addition to its fleet of microphones, Wanda, at the NAMM Global Media Day in Anaheim. With mid-century aesthetics and cutting-edge performance, the stand-mounted condenser microphone is billed as a striking centerpiece for stage or studio. Drawing on the iconic styles of the 1940s and '50s, Wanda's all-brass body and classic cast design cuts through the mix in loud band settings while maintaining warm, tonally consistent "sweet spot," the company says.

Voiced with a touch of added presence, Wanda's generous sweet spot extends up to 12" away, giving artists the freedom to move while staying true to their sound. Beneath its vintage-inspired exterior, the mic delivers clarity and detail.

Wanda is equally at home with vocalists, horn players, string musicians, and recording engineers. Its rugged brass construction is built to handle the demands of the road, while its built-in pivoting stand mount ensures seamless positioning on any mic stand.

The medium-large diaphragm condenser capsule, high-SPL-handling circuitry design, and integrated multilayer pop filter ensure professional-grade performance, no matter the application. With their highest SPL handling yet, Wanda thrives in high-volume scenarios, from powerful horn sections, to close snare micing, to kick drum. The mic offers feedback rejection and plosive control for studio-quality sound, anywhere, the company says.

Like every Ear Trumpet Labs microphone, Wanda is hand-built at their small workshop in Oregon.
