Neutrik Announces New powerCon TRUE1 ConnectorsNeutrik USA, a supplier of robust and reliable professional connectivity solutions for audio, video, and data, announces the introduction of the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors. As a new connector series in the powerCON line, the powerCON TRUE1 connectors is Neutrik's third and best-yet powerCON product. These new connectors fit a wide range of applications and are suited for use in the pro touring and special event markets. Of particular note, the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors are Neutrik's first true mains connector with breaking capacity according to IEC 60320 and UL 498 standards. This feature enables these connectors to be connected and disconnected under a live load. The UL and VDE certified, single-phase system is designed for 16A, 250V. The cable connector comes with an integrated twist-lock mechanism. Equally significant, the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors are represented by the model designations NAC3FX-W and NAC3MX-W, where the "-W" indicates weather resistance. Being IP65 weather resistant certified, these new connectors have water sealing gaskets at the rear -- thus eliminating the need for overmolding in order to achieve IP-rated performance. Another noteworthy attribute of the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors is that they are offered in both male and female genders, enabling cables to be easily chained without the need for couplers. Additionally, powerCON TRUE1 is a complete system encompassing an in/out duplex chassis connector for devices that get daisy chained, such as lighting fixtures. Peter Milbery, president of Neutrik USA, Inc., commented on the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors, "With its distinctive black-and-yellow color scheme, powerCON TRUE1 represents a significant step forward in design. The connectors have been updated with new Torx type screws; the proven Neutrik bayonet locking system prevents inadvertent disconnection. The IP65 certification is very assuring for outdoor events where moisture is a concern, and the fact that the cables themselves can be easily daisy chained adds to the system's versatility. Further, although the new powerCON TRUE1 connectors are not backwards compatible with the original blue and gray powerCON connectors because of the breaking capacity requirement, these new connectors do intermate with all NAC3FX and NAC3MX connectors that are already out in the field." Both the NAC3FX-W and NAC3MX-W connectors are expected to be available in December.
