Proel Axiom at Major Tanzanian Events Proel Axiom starred in two events taking place in Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. A Proel sound reinforcement system was chosen by Aqua Sounds, the audio service responsible for the technical setup of the city stadium for the opening ceremony of the East Africa Football Cup. Dar El Salaam National Stadium can host up to 60,000 people; it is the tenth largest on the whole African continent. The ceremony that opened this important football competition proved to be a festival of the sounds, dances, and colors of Africa; the country's recently elected president, Jakaya Kikwete, took part. The rig included 24 Axiom AX3210P modules,12 Edge SW121P subwoofers, 12 Powersoft K10 amplifiers (four AXPACKK10 with three amplifiers each), eight Edge 15CXA monitors, one DSO480 digital processor, one DSO26 digital processor, one EZCurve equalizer, five Gator compressors. Dar es Salaam also hosted the event organized by mobile telephone company Bharti Airtel to announce the acquisition and consequent re-branding of the Zain network and products in Tanzania. Aqua Sounds chose a Proel Axiom system for this event.
