LD Systems Provides A Wide Range of Production Support Services for The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) has committed over $450 million to the youth of Texas since 1932 and draws more than two million people each year to NRG Park. LD Systems production services and systems integration teams work together to make HLSR and RodeoHouston a destination event for every visitor. The company provides technical design, live sound, concert lighting, HD video screens, custom truss structures, rigging equipment, production crew, and logistics support throughout all of NRG Park for the entire month surrounding the event's 20-day run that started on February 27.

RodeoHouston unveiled a new concert stage this year designed and fabricated by TAIT with technical support from LD Systems. The star shaped stage utilizes vertical motion control for the star point stage sections and a rotating center stage section. Another brand new feature was the backdrop truss structure that supports hundreds of moving lights and motion controlled hybrid video modules that can be configured into a variety of video display shapes and patterns.

Utilizing the latest technology for live audio, the LD Systems audio engineers collaborated with L-Acoustics to design and deploy one of the world's largest stadium sound systems. The live sound system was comprised of over 300 L-Acoustics speaker enclosures powered by 134 LA8 amplifiers and used the full capabilities of LD Systems' K1, K2, K1-SB, and KARA line arrays to evenly cover the stadium's giant acoustical space.

LD Systems lighting designers deployed a stadium wide arrangement of moving lights creating remarkable atmospheres and spectacular lighting performances for the nightly RodeoHouston concerts. The company also supports conventional lighting for many areas including the outdoor concert stages, livestock judging and performance arenas, and inside the NRG Center AgVenture educational experience areas.

HD video content was displayed in the stadium above the main stage and lighting truss using high resolution 5mm LED video walls arranged to provide an immersive video experience for every audience member. Traditional LED high definition video displays, video screens, and digital projector installations support several areas inside the NRG Center and around NRG Park.
