Comfest 2018 Raises £14,000 for Backup -- More Events Planned Ahead for the Industry Charity

	The next event planned for the Backup charity is Golf-fest April 18, 2018.

What an amazing night was had by all, so many familiar faces made up the audience for the first Comfest at the Royal National Theatre, London. The Venue didn't let us down and even more so nor did the comedians! Right from the start, there were no prisoners and no quarter given by either the audience or the acts. Wave after wave of scandalous digs and laughs were handed out and re-payed by the audience. A fantastic night was had by all, where all the comedians went above and beyond to say thank you to the industry that supports them. A number of surprises on the night, highlighted by the Pub Landlord himself, performing under pressure with a member of the audience.

When the lights finally went down and the mics were turned off, Backup was left with an amazing £14,000 in its fighting fund. A huge thank you to all the staff at the National Theatre, our really brilliant sponsors SFL, White Light, and TSL, all of the audience members, the amazing band The Cloggz and finally to the comedians themselves. A fantastic night and Comfest 2019 is already on the cards!

Next up for Backup is the Golf-fest 2018, April 18. The annual live events Charity Golf day is back and even more fun to be had on the day. As 18 teams go tee to tee, the organizers have surprises galore to keep participants on their toes throughout the day.

Digico has now come on board and is sponsoring the "hole in one" competition on the third. The winner receives a brand new Digico console, yes you heard right a brand new console, just for putting a ball in a hole in one shot!

The new 2018 challenge will be introduced - "Fastest Hole of golf by a team of four." Go up against the clock for the fastest hole of golf. Who drives, who plays the fairway, the lay up, the putt? all to play for to claim the bragging rites.

Kart-Fest 2018 follows on July 5th at Sandown Park. Tickets are now on sale for Kart-Fest 2018. There are just 30 team spaces available, past participants know how quickly this sells out. Interested participants who haven't raced before need to book now for a fantastic day out with the rest of the industry, with three hours of karting, the notorious "Unusual" Pit stop challenge, The Media Lease fastest lap, live music food, drink and cold beers into the evening. Last years theme was Hawaii what for this year?

Creative Technology and White Light have entered teams for this years Velo south. Taking place on Sunday, September 23, 2018, Velo South will take 15,000 riders of all ability levels on a truly unforgettable journey through the stunning West Sussex countryside, starting and finishing on the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit and featuring the magnificent rolling hills of the South Downs National Park.

Within the main ride will be a corporate team event entitled the "Business 100," designed to provide companies with an opportunity to bring employees, clients, and prospects together in a uniquely fun yet challenging physical environment. Aside from improving individual fitness levels, the Business 100 is guaranteed to provide a powerful engagement, networking, and charity fund raising platform for participating companies.

CT and WL have entered the 100 Club with four riders each raising money for Backup. "If Comedy, Golf, or Karting isn't your thing but cycling is then please do sign up and get a team involved. This could become a great industry event," shares the organizers.
