HOG FACTOR Live Finals at LDI 2015After many months of preparation and consideration, three High End Systems' Hog Factor finalist teams have been chosen from the 60 teams that entered the competition. The finalists are: o "Piggy Whisperers" from Carnegie Mellon University o "Lightlander" from Southern Methodist University o "Webco" from Webster University On Friday, October 23rd these three teams of university students will compete live at the Lighting Dimensions International (LDI) exhibition in Las Vegas to determine the winner of the Hog Factor 2015 Finals. The winner will claim a HOG4 console as well as a $20,000 scholarship for their university. The competition kicks off at 4:30pm on High End Systems' booth 1016 and will be judged by High End's award winning panel. High End Systems' general manager Chris Ferrante comments: "We look forward to welcoming the finalist teams, and invite all of our lighting friends to join us on our booth to support the first national collegiate lighting programming competition, as well as drink a beer! When we embarked on this project almost a year ago, we never could have hoped for this level of response. Sixty teams -- in all around 300 students -- all vying to make it to the finals, all using Hog! Given the phenomenal response, we expect this to become a mainstay of our calendar as we look to provide students from across the country access to the Hog platform. We certainly hope you will all turn up on Friday to give the teams your support." In addition to Hog Factor, High End Systems will be launching two new fixtures in the SolaRange -- the SolaWash and SolaSpot Pro 2000 -- the company says "by far the brightest LED fixtures available today and the only true 1500W Arc replacements." Part of the Barco group, High End Systems is a manufacturer of entertainment lighting and control products.
