Auerbach Pollock Friedlander Expresses Congratulations on the Re-Opening of SPLENDOR! Auerback Pollock Friedlander congratulates the Sunac Taihu Show Theatre and its reopening of Franco Dragone's SPLENDOR! Crowds in Wuxi, China are again delighted with the historic story of Xi Shi told with creativity and advanced performance technologies. Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided theatre and AV consulting for the Sunac Taihu Show Theatre. This unique venue is home to Franco Dragone's new resident show. This marks the third time the firm has collaborated with Dragone. The project was realized in partnership with Sunac China Holdings Limited in cooperation with Dragone and Five Currents. The purpose-built theatre was created with façade designer, SCA (Steven Chilton Architects) and architect/engineers, Tongji Architectural Design and Research Institute. The theatre features an immersive experience for 2,000 patrons blurring the line between performance and spectacle with special effects that transport the audience to a different realm. The performers and their stories are supported by the latest technology in lighting, sound, moving and suspended scenic elements, stunning digital scenic effects, and is a breathtaking example of world-class artistic collaboration. At the heart of the performance stage is a center lift that raises, continuously rotates, tilts, and has an integral reflective water effect. The audience chamber is surrounded by a 360-degree, high-resolution LED video screen that floats above the seating area and joins with the stage to form a large portal. The video projection and LED system allow for complex mapping of virtual scenery and visual effects throughout the stage and auditorium.
