Awakening Conference Founder to Conduct Youth and Technology Seminar at WFX For ChauvetReaching out to young worshippers is a key goal for many churches. One outreach program that has been especially successful in achieving this objective has been the annual Awakening Conference in New England, which draws over 4,000 young people and youth pastors to its site for three days of worship. Pastor Jordan Boyce, the founder of the conference, will discuss how he has effectively used high-tech entertainment tools to engage young worshippers at the WFX "Awakening Youth With Technology" seminar. Sponsored by Chauvet Professional, the seminar takes place on Wednesday, November 18 from 3:15pm-4:15pm in Room 213 at the Music City Center during the WFX Conference and Expo in Nashville. Pastor Boyce, who founded the Awakening Conference in 2007 when he was still in high school, will detail how the event uses progressive Christian rock music, a lightshow and tech-oriented choreography to connect to young people. Joining him at the seminar will be lighting director Robert Santilli, who has been lighting the Awakening Conference since its inception. Featuring pixel-mapped moving LED panels, audience blinders, and video walls, Santilli's design for the 2015 Awakening Conference attracted international attention within the lighting industry. Santilli will provide details on the ways a church can add visual impact to its youth services without going over budget. He will also discuss matters such as how and when to use LED technology and how to program lighting effects to maximize their impact on young worshippers in the video age. "We became aware of the Awakening Conference through its innovative use of lighting," says Berenice Chauvet, vice president of Chauvet. "As we learned more about the conference, we became more impressed with the way that Pastor Boyce, Robert Santilli, and their team have woven technology, music, and a passion for their ministry together to create an immersive worship environment that connects to young people. Their experience holds valuable lessons for any church that wants to engage young worshippers. We're honored to have them at our Chauvet Learning Room." In addition to discussing the role of technology in the Awakening Conference, Pastor Boyce will offer general advice on how churches can develop vibrant and relevant youth ministries. "This seminar is a must-attend session for any church looking to increase the involvement of young people," says Chauvet. Awakening Youth with Technology is one of eight seminars that Chauvet Professional will be sponsoring at WFX.
