GLP Celebrates 30 with Five New Models at LDI 2024

Visit GLP at LDI 2024, Booth #2549.

GLP will use this year's LDI Expo (Las Vegas Convention Center, December 8 - 10, 2024) as an opportunity to celebrate 30 years in lighting, with a lavish party at The Venetian at the end of the opening day.

This will be on the back of five new products being showcased at the GLP booth (#2549) in both production and prototype versions. For many LDs, designers, specifiers and rental houses it will be their first opportunity to get up close and personal with this next generation of show production lighting.

Already in production are the new Mad Maxx, FUSION EXO Hybrid 40 and impression S500. These will be joined in prototype form by the JDC Burst 1 and impression X5 IP, which will start shipping in Q1 next year.

Also on display will be the Creos washlight (18 40W RGBL LEDs in three lines of six pixels).

IP65-rated and designed for festival use, the GLP Mad Maxx is billed as the first real LED fat beam light, boasting a massive 750mm beam diameter. This makes it the only beam fixture comparable with classic 3kW and 7kW xenon beam lights, and can thus be used as a SkyBeam as well as a fat bam on stages.

"Lighting professionals will be impressed by this massive illumination capacity (with fat light aperture the same as beam size), as well as energy efficient power consumption and low-service construction.

"Compared to alternative 3kW or 7kW Xenon fixtures, which are typically be used for this effect, the Mad Maxx is very compact and doesn't need high ampere power infrastructure; with only 2,500W the fixture can easily be connected to the normal power distribution network. This allows an energy-efficient power consumption for easy power infrastructure and environmentally friendly operation," the company says.

The latest member of the Exo Series, the IP65-rated FUSION Hybrid 40 is a beam-spot LED fixture designed for a wide range of applications, prioritizing optimum operational efficiency in terms of function, operating environment and fast ROI.

Based on a 380W white light LED, optics with a 135mm front lens, and a zoom range of 3.8 to 46 degrees, it offers great light output for small to medium-sized stages, the company says, as well as for outdoor use at festivals. In addition, there is an extensive functional package for spot, beam, or wash applications. This includes a CMY color mixing system, a color wheel with 12 fixed colors and additional four-color correction filters, two gobo wheels, an animation wheel, a frost system, and two combinable prisms.

The GLP impression S500 series upgrades the 350W moving head to a robust 500W LED engine, offering up to 65% more output. Comprising two spotlights and a washlight, the series excels in versatility and precision. The S500 wash HC and profile HC (High Color) deliver outstanding light quality driven by its 26,000lm white LED engine at 6,000K, the company says, with exceptional color rendering (CRI/TLCI > 95), and seamless field illumination. With a refined feature set and whisper-quiet operation, they are tailored for TV studios, theatres, and musical productions.

For even greater intensity, the S500 Profile HO (high output) version provides 66% more output compared to its predecessor the S350 with its efficient 7,000K, 40,000lm LED engine (CRI 70), well suited for powerful mid-air and projection applications.

The new JDC Burst 1 is a powerful, outdoor LED tiltable strobe and wash light, designed for outdoor use. It contains a white strobe line and two RGBW LED plates for clean white punch and 12 4-RGBW segments (and is FVP video compatible). IP65-rated, it offers protection against wind, rain, dust, dirt, fog fluid, and confetti particles.

Similar in size to the JDC1, the JDC Burst 1 contains 1090 RGBW LEDs (550W), 144 White LEDs (1120W), and has selectable white points (6,500K and 5,600K) and 16-bit dimming and fast 190-degree tilt.

Making its public debut at LDI, the impression X5 IP is powered by 19 40W RGBL LEDs designed to excel even in challenging environmental conditions. Integrated with GLP's advanced iQ.Gamut color algorithm, which autonomously adds lime to the mix in RGB mode, the X5 IP achieves a pristine white output at 6,500 Kelvin as standard white point. It also provides the flexibility to switch swiftly between other fixed, precisely calibrated color temperatures.

The X5 IP features a high-speed 17:1 zoom mechanism, delivering a sharp 3.6-degree parallel beam and expanding up to a 63-degree wash light. With a total lumen output of up to 14,000 lm, it combines precision and power for all possible lighting applications.
