coolux Hosts Interactive Applications at LDI 2012coolux will present their new Pandoras Box Version 5.3 and their new Widget Designer 4.0 at this year's LDI show in Las Vegas, Nevada with a special focus on interactive applications. The new Widget Designer 4.0 features a built-in web server that allows the creation and control of all showcontrol interfaces from any remote HTML browsing device. An unlimited number of devices can be controlled and integrated this way. The new Pandoras Box version 5.3 supports interactive 3-D layer picking, which means that both mouse and touch data will be available from any display client. Tools like the Widget Designer or Spark allow the setup of direct interaction and remote control of any Windows XP and Windows 7 computer live-input signal. Visitors to the coolux booth will be able to see a combination of projection mapping and Microsoft Kinect interaction. Based on the Windows Kinect SDK, coolux will also present a Kinect Skeleton Tracker tool that features advanced smoothing and prediction algorithms for overcoming signal latencies. This new tool allows for multiple Kinect devices to be connected to the Widget Designer, in order to provide the user with 3-D XYZ control data. This 3-D input data can be used to set up gesture control or interactive projection mapping scenarios, for example mapping human body joints to multiple particle systems from the Pandoras Box V5's effects engine. See coolux at PLASA Focus: Stamford, November 12-13.
