New at LDI -- The COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW from Chauvet Professional

Chauvet Professional's COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW

Rain or shine, the new COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW from Chauvet Professional makes it easy for designers to tune in the perfect color temperature for a wide variety of applications, including broadcast studios, recital halls, churches, and events. Radiant cooled for silent operation, the high-output fixture offers a variable white color temperature range of 2,800K to 9,000K -- and a full output color temperature of 5,000K. Thanks to its IP65 rating, the versatile COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW is also right at home in outdoor video shoots and open air events.

"We designed the COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW to be a versatile tool that will allow designers to adjust white light color temperature to fit their specific application," said Albert Chauvet, CEO of Chauvet. "The fixture will make it easy for designers to hit their sweet spot in broadcast applications. Its maximum output color temperature of 5,000K can readily be adjusted up or down to cover the 4,400K to 5,600K color temperature range that's frequently favored in HD video and broadcast production."

Aside from making it easy for designers to hit ideal color temperature in a TV studio, the COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW also opens a lot of options for designers at events. For example, the luminaire can be used to deliver warm light over tables where guests dine, while providing cooler light over the dance floor.

Offering full IP65 protection, the COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW can be used outdoors with an IP rated five-pin DMX cable, no cumbersome whip adaptors required. The fixture's wide 15- to 49-degree zoom range delivers complete coverage on broadcast sets of varying sizes, indoors or out. The wide zoom range allows the fixture to be used as an area-wash on set, or flooded out for close-up key light applications in studio, or on location.

Other performance features include smooth dimming with selectable curves and 16-bit capacity, as well as zoom and color mixing control via DMX or from an on-board display. "We felt there was a need for a reliable variable white light that could be at home in a variety of applications," said Chauvet. "This is what we delivered with the COLORado 1-Quad Zoom VW."
