Enviral Design Releases GeoPix 1.0, a Revolutionary 3D Pixel-Mapping Software

This week, Enviral Design debuted GeoPix 1.0, a pixel-mapping software that allows designers to calibrate, preview, and operate lights in real-time using a digital 3D canvas.

The software's beta testing phase brought to life several successful projects, including two large-scale installations for Ultra Music Festival 2019 in Miami and collaborations with Meow Wolf, CymaSpace, and DJ Overcomer.

Lucas Morgan, the founder of Enviral Design, was inspired to create GeoPix while composing interactive lighting projects for his clients, including Imaginex, Electric Forest, Mod/Op Films, Toyota, and Hennessy.

GeoPix makes it possible for designers to control many different varieties of LED and DMX lighting technologies in a cohesive and unified manner by building a system between the three main tabs: Editor, I/O, and Perform.

The Editor tab is where designers can build 3D environments, such as performance stages, home interiors/exteriors, or installation art structures. Using the I/O tab, the designer can then import, create, and composite content, which gets projected onto the LED, DMX, or video surfaces in that scene. In the Perform tab, designers can create their own control center to VJ live performances, or create presets to run on auto-pilot.

Cathy Laughlin, the automation and interactive lighting lead developer of Meow Wolf, an art and entertainment collective in New Mexico says, "GeoPix allowed us to design and previsualize the programming for more than 4,000 pixels embedded in a 3D object, starting months before the object even existed. Going from previz[ualization] to production was as easy as plugging in our controllers, entering their IP addresses into GeoPix, and setting our DMX addresses in the controller software."

Morgan's unique combination of experience in lighting design, animation, and programming helped shape GeoPix's UI/UX design emphasis, which is intuitive, and similar to that of Blender, Maya, Houdini, and other 3D modeling softwares. In Morgan's words, ""GeoPix breathes new life into stale workflows. It's now more possible than ever for smaller VJs, artists, and lighting designers to create a compelling and cohesive show on their own."

GeoPix differentiates itself from competing softwares in several arenas. Users can:
* Pixel Map any 3D or volumetric shape intuitively and quickly.
* Design, visualize, and operate stage lights or LED installation art in real-time.
* Operate/program any DMX-based lighting fixture or device.
* Program lights to have static values, repeat patterns, play dynamic and/or live video content, or any combination thereof.
* Customize a modular performance interface to VJ live performances.
* Save and export a personal library of fixture profiles for future use.

GeoPix can be downloaded and used for free for up to five universes of light. Several license tiers above that exist to accommodate higher universe counts. Licenses are cloud based, and can be checked in and out from the server to a local computer, and may be used offline.

Recommended workstation specs include: Windows 10, i7/i9 3+ Ghz cpu, Nvidia gtx 10 series, 6+ gigs of gpu ram, 16 gigs memory, and SSDs.

GeoPix was created by Enviral Design LLC, a software development company founded and operated by Morgan and based in Dallas, Texas. Enviral Design's software products help designers and artists create unique experiences through light.
