Obsidian Control Systems Continues Boom in Popularity at LDI 2022 With lighting control professionals crowding the Obsidian Control Systems booth at LDI in Las Vegas, the show was a testament to Obsidian's position as perhaps the fastest growing lighting control brand on the market, the company says. Lighting designers, programmers, and operators all made their way to the Obsidian booth over the course of the three-day show to check out the trending NX1 lighting console, as well as other consoles in the NX line and a full line of NETRON data distribution products. The NX1 has created quite a buzz in the lighting control community since launching at the Prolight+Sound tradeshow in Frankfurt last April with LDI the first opportunity for many in the US to see and demo the console in person. The unit has been shipping worldwide since September. The NX1 is a scalable and full-featured console that offers the complete ONYX experience in an ultra-compact package. An intuitive professional console in its own right, it is expandable with the dedicated NXP motorized playback wing, and the NXK, a small USB-powered control surface. Obsidian ran a grand prize drawing at the show with one lucky winner walking away with a brand new NX1 console on the last day of the show! "Obsidian had great response from the lighting community," states Elation channel sales manager John Lopez. "Along with the NX1 systems complete with the NXP and NXK, we featured the full-power DyLOS pixel composer on the NX4 featuring an upcoming release to ONYX. We also featured the NX2 with additional touch monitor and NX Touch as an additional play back wing. With the help of Vangelis and Visilis from Capture Sweden, we were also able to feature Capture Visualisation. Both ONYX and Capture share the same libraries provided by AtlaBase, which allows instant libraries for both your control and design software, but more importantly instant patch import with the click of a button. "On top of all that, we were able to feature the full NETRON line, including the new "CLU" Central Utility Software used to identify and change settings to the NETRON gateway nodes. We featured a 6U 60-Universe NETRON rack fully powered with POE plus a 3U 4-Universe portable rack, featuring the EN4 with two DMX10-5 AB DMX data splitters. Overall we provided a complete control solution to users and I believe those solutions are what created such great acceptance from the lighting control professionals at the show." Obsidian also gave away a NETRON EP4 EtherDMX node to one lucky visitor each day of the show. NETRON is quickly becoming the new standard in data distribution with strong growth and outstanding feedback from the installation, live event, and film market since its introduction nearly three years ago, the companys says.
