"As the TV repack and T-Mobile activation begins to wrap up, wireless microphone and intercom operators across the country are finding it particularly challenging to get their jobs done," says James Stoffo, CTO Radio Active Designs. "The radio spectrum shuffle affects all aspects of American culture including live broadcasts, sporting events, houses of worship services, and arts and entertainment productions." Stoffo will present a radio spectrum update along with RF best practices and offer problem solving advice to attendees. Stoffo will be presenting an hour-long seminar offered by InfoComm at 8:00am Thursday morning. The full hour will cover wireless microphone use as well as a spectrum update and best practices. Radio Active Designs manufacturers the UV-1G wireless analog intercom. With bodypacks that operate in VHF and a receiver that utilizes a mere sliver of UHF, the analog UV-1G provides the reliability and ease-of-use wireless operators demand. "We knew the 600MHz auction and resulting TV repack was going to prove challenging to wireless operators across the country. Our goal was to provide an intercom system with the same reliability and ease-of-use professionals were accustomed to in a package that would operate outside of the UHF spectrum. In addition to being CTO of Radio Active Designs, Stoffo is an RF technician and frequency coordinator on large-scale special events and installations including fourteen consecutive Super Bowls, numerous Latin and English Grammy Awards, every Latin and English Billboard Music Awards since 2000, Video Music Award, Soul Train Awards, and Country Music Awards. He designed the wireless audio systems for Microsoft Studios, most of the Cirque Du Soliel shows in the US, the NBC Sports Facility in Stamford Connecticut, large Theme Parks and Attractions and the QVC shopping Network, a 250,000 sq. ft. facility with multiple studios on one combined antenna system.
