AVL Expo 2015 Provides Answers for Worship Community AV QuestionsWith a conference program emphasizing audio technologies, this year's Audio, Video, Lighting Conference and Expo (AVL Expo) attracted close to 150 attendees from churches across the Pacific Northwest. Specifically designed for the worship community, the seventh annual event was presented by professional video and audio systems integration firm Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS) in collaboration with Experience Church.tv, which hosted the event at its church in Puyallup, Washington, on February 20. "Overall, we had another successful AVL Expo this year. There were more than a dozen exhibitors and almost 150 people representing churches from across the region," said Mark Siegel, president of ABS. "We changed the format to include shorter sessions and even repeated a few sessions, so attendees didn't have to miss anything. As always, it was very rewarding to provide answers to church leaders who are trying to maximize their AV resources." Dennis Cummins, pastor at Experience Church.tv, said keynote speaker James Hurley from Hillsong Church and Yamaha Commercial Audio representative Randy Weitzel addressed key issues with attendees during their presentations. "It wasn't just about gear but about applications with gear," he explained. "Attendees walked away feeling more empowered. Senior pastors communicated how this year's sessions drilled down to the issues their churches were dealing with -- and they can't wait to bring their teams next year." Siegel confirmed plans are already being developed for AVL Expo 2016.
