Lucille Lortel Nominations Announced The nominations are in for this season's Lucille Lortel Awards. Named after the legendary producer and theatre owner, the awards honor achievement in the Off-Broadway theatre scene. The design nominations include: Outstanding Scenic Design dots - Three Houses Christopher Ford and Dakota Rose - The Beastiary Derek McLane - Here There Are Blueberries Jan Pappelbaum - Our Class Matt Saunders - Jordans Outstanding Costume Design Oana Botez - Orlando Qween Jean - Liberation Marco Marco - Drag: The Musical Rodrigo Munoz - Sally & Tom Mariko Ohigashi - Sumo Outstanding Lighting Design Stacey Derosier - Grangeville Michael Gottlieb - Beckett Briefs: From the Cradle to the Grave Tyler Micoleau - The Antiquities Ben Stanton - Table 17 Japhy Weideman - Ghosts Outstanding Sound Design Nick Kourtides - Travels Fabian Obispo - Sumo Matt Otto - All of Me Matt Otto - Medea: Re-Versed Ryan Rumery and M. Florian Staab - Beckett Briefs: From the Cradle to the Grave Outstanding Projection Design David Bengali - Here There Are Blueberries David Bengali - We Live in Cairo Eric Dunlap, Igor Golyak, and Andreea Mincic - Our Class Hana S. Kim - Sumo Brian Pacelli - Scarlett Dreams Leading the nominations overall, with six apiece, are Drag: The Musical, about a vendetta between two drag queens running rival nightclubs; Our Class, a historical drama about antisemitism in Poland across the twentieth century; and Three Houses, a trio of musical tales about life during COVID lockdown. Earning give nominations are the Holocaust drama Here There are Blueberries; Liberation, about a 1970s-era women's consciousness-raising group; Sumo, a drama set in the Japanese wrestling world; and The Big Gay Jamboree, a satire of musical theatre. Shows with four nominations include Medea Re-Versed, a hip-hop telling of the Greek tragedy, and the romantic comedy Table 17. The awards will be given out on May 4 at NYU's Skirball Center.
