JBL Professional Introduces Flyable Subwoofers and Expanded Accessories for SRX900 Series Powered Systems HARMAN Professional Solutions announces two flyable subwoofer additions to its JBL Professional SRX900 Series of powered loudspeaker products. Included are 15" and 18" single woofer models that can be flown and configured with existing SRX900 line arrays and rigging accessories. Drawing on flagship JBL Professional technologies, both subwoofers feature dual voice coil, differential drive woofers to deliver better heat dissipation, lower power compression, and wider dynamic range. A large low-frequency port design improves airflow and reduces audible turbulence. A reinforced 18mm birch plywood cabinet ensures enhanced strength and durability, the company says. Both subwoofers feature the same amplifier module as the existing SRX900 subwoofers. In addition, a new range of accessories is being introduced, compatible with both the existing and new SRX900 products, expanding system configuration options and transportation capabilities. Models include new vertical transport carts for stacking and transporting up to three subwoofers and matching covers. A new simplified pole mount accessory offers a more cost-effective option for pole-mounting SRX906LA products. Alongside the new hardware offerings, a series of new firmware and software updates expand system flexibility even further. A new version of the Performance application is being released, adding support for flown subwoofer arrays, a much-requested daylight mode, and the ability to store venue files onto the devices. A new version of Venue Synthesis is also being released, adding new features to the application. Among many other improvements, the update includes support for the new SRX900 flyable subwoofers, additional signal types for SPL mapping, new drawing tools, and expanded venue import format support, to name a few. "A few years ago, the SRX900 Series was introduced to provide JBL Professional flagship touring performance and system integration into a modular system that can be scaled according to needs and budget. We are now expanding the line with our new flyable subwoofers, additional accessories, and key firmware and software updates," says George Georgallis, senior director of product management, tour sound at HARMAN Professional Solutions. "We are committed to establishing SRX900 as the leader in this category and closely monitor market feedback to ensure we provide the appropriate solutions for our customers' needs. This new phase of SRX900 reflects that commitment." Drawing on flagship JBL technologies, SRX900 transducers deliver output with extremely low distortion in a lightweight package. SRX900 Series line arrays utilize JBL's Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI), a technology that allows the high and low-frequency transducers to be placed on a single horn, improving horizontal directivity while reducing cabinet size. Additionally, the technology extends horizontal control to a lower frequency and reduces unwanted energy behind the array. The SRX900 Series offers a complete system solution, including speakers, subwoofers, and accessories that support a variety of configurations and simplify storage, and deployment. Because systems are scalable, starting with a small system and adding components over time is easy. The fully integrated built-in amplifier and DSP are based on proven JBL technologies and are explicitly packaged to fit the needs of the SRX900 Series. The DSP includes everything needed to optimize a system, including 24 user-adjustable filters, 2,000ms of delay, and advanced features like array size compensation and FIR-based throw distance correction filters. The LevelMax Limiter Suite, built into the SRX900 amplifier module, uses sophisticated excursion-control algorithms to protect transducers from mechanical damage. RMS-limiting and long-term thermal protection ensure reliable operation under any condition. Leveraging an all-new HARMAN communications protocol, HControl simplifies and streamlines device control by using standard networking infrastructure and can operate over off-the-shelf data switches and Wi-Fi routers. The full-featured software package streamlines the entire audio system workflow, from initial design to deployment. It integrates three powerful tools: JBL Venue Synthesis for 3D acoustic simulation, JBL Performance for system management, and ArrayLink for deployment. Built-in DSP and amplification offer a plug-and-play experience while providing consistency and optimum performance anywhere in the world. Because line arrays and subwoofers are self-powered, users never have to worry about matching components or lugging amp racks. A three-point rigging system and a full set of accessories allow systems to scale and solve the diverse needs of production companies and installation houses. SRX900 models can be deployed in pole-mounted, ground-stacked, and flown configurations of up to 16 cabinets. SRX900 Series loudspeakers are housed in FEA-optimized enclosures. CAD-optimized structure stiffeners control flexing, resulting in a rigid, lightweight enclosure.
