Rostov State Circus Taps PR LightingSet up in 1957, the Rostov State Circus, based in the southern Russian city of Rostov-na-Donu, has numerous circus troupes and shows. Recently, they decided to illuminate one of these international programs, Dreams of Egypt, with PR Lighting fixtures, having first started using the Chinese company's effects -- supplied by Russian distributors, Asia Trade Music -- in Autumn 2011. Asia Trade Music's Rostislav Serishev explained that the circus owns all its own equipment -- including PR Lighting discharge and LED heads. "They have been using 12 of the XL 700E and XLED590's on this show, and are so delighted with the effects that they will now be buying a further four of each," he confirmed. According to the company, the XL 700E has proved popular with customers around the world, using a 700W short arc discharge lamp, and optimizing its full feature set with an advanced optical path. The XLED590 -- one of PR Lighting's new generation LED effects -- uses 90 five-watt Osram Diamond Dragon RGB single-chip SMT LEDs which resembles that of a conventional 1,200W wash light while providing the extra benefit of excellent color mixing and high uniformity of the white beam, the company says. The fixtures have helped to create both versatility and high impact for the circus.
