NATEAC Conference Dinner to be Charity EventThe director and staff of the North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) announce that the conference dinner has been designated a charity event to benefit Behind the Scenes, a program of the Behind the Scenes Foundation. The Behind the Scenes Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2005 to create and support charitable programs for the entertainment technology industry. Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to industry professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Grants provided by Behind the Scenes may be used for basic living expenses or medical care. Bill Sapsis, NATEAC director commented, "The work Behind the Scenes does for our industry is enormous and supporting them with this dinner was a very easy decision. Generous donations from PRG and Altman Lighting helped make this event possible." The dinner, which is open to conference attendees, will be held on Sunday night, July 17 at Sardi's, the iconic New York City theatre restaurant. Dinner will cost $100 per person, $75 of which will go directly to Behind the Scenes. Richard Winkler, the Broadway lighting designer and Tony Award-winning producer will be the guest speaker. "I'm thrilled to be a part of this event," noted Winkler. "We'll have some fun and raise money for a very worthy organization." Rick Rudolph, chair of the Behind the Scenes Foundation noted, "This is a wonderful surprise and we're honored NATEAC has chosen to support Behind the Scenes in this manner. It is fitting that the people gathering for NATEAC to consider the design and engineering of performance buildings and spaces should help support the individuals who earn their living working in them." NATEAC takes place at the Roosevelt hotel in New York City on July 17 - 18, 2016. Details for the conference and dinner can be found at the URL below.
