Rent What? on Glee Rent What? Inc. drapes again took center stage on the blockbuster hit TV series Glee, as the television show wrapped up its second season. The finale TV episode featured numerous performances set before an elegant 30' x 60' gold Austrian drape provided by Rent What?. With each performance, changing lighting allowed the reflective drapery to reveal its unique and exciting characteristics as it enhanced the stage mood. "The gold Austrian drape is compelling," commented Rent What? Inc. partner Megan Duckett. "It's graceful, dynamic, classical and at the same time very contemporary, and its swags take the light in amazing ways." Duckett said that the producers were looking for a stage drape that could be a center-stage statement for the finale and selected Rent What?'s Austrian drape from many choices they were considering from around the country. Helping make the transition from the television screen to the live stage, the same drape was a featured set component of the Glee live tour, which began immediately following the television finale. The drape was set on a lift system, also provided by Rent What?. In addition, the rental drapery tour package from Rent What? included 120 running feet of red Contour Drape (which lifts from the center), a white silk Austrian drape, and a complete masking and border set. With the massive success of Glee's second television season, expectations for the Glee Live tour were at the highest level, meaning that every aspect of the tour staging had to be perfect. "This set the bar very high. We worked with the producers, directors and designers, all of whom insisted that this show had to be spectacular," added Duckett. Fortunately, having worked with the Glee TV series before, the Rent What? team was already prepared to meet all the Glee live tour's needs and drapery challenges. Because Rent What? is a sister company to custom drapery fabricator Sew What? Inc., the ability to customize the drapery package to the tour's needs was already assured. Duckett explained that the company's dual heritage (rental drapes and custom drapery fabrication) as well as its smaller boutique environment makes it easy to customize, retrofit, alter and adapt a rental package to a customer's precise needs. "We offered them complete support for the tour, bringing several of our own people out to Las Vegas to coordinate the staging and address any issues, making sure everything was perfect." The 2011 Glee Live Tour runs from May through July beginning in the United States and Canada and concluding in the United Kingdom.
