The Long Reach Long Riders Announce the Dates for their Next Charity RideThe 11th annual Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR) charity ride, dubbed Carpe Diem! Carpe Twisty! 11 Great Years of Riding, is scheduled for July 12-19, 2014. The ride will begin in Baltimore, Maryland and meander through the West Virginia mountains, the horse country of Virginia, and the rolling hills and cornfields of central Pennsylvania before returning to Baltimore. Building on the success of last year's ride through the Great Lakes, ride marshals Kacey Coffin and Moe Conn are hard at work finalizing the route and organizing lodging and meals for what is shaping up to be the largest group of riders yet. Coffin commented "We're thrilled with the response to our choice of route. There will be roads to suit everyone's riding style and skill level." Conn, whose expertise on past rides has been riding point and organizing meals for the riders, will reprise those roles in 2014. "While leading the group is always a challenge" noted Conn, "finding the best meal spots is really important. That's when the riders get to socialize and become better acquainted with each other." The Long Reach Long Riders began riding for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program in 2004. Since that first ride the LRLR, which is made up of entertainment industry professionals, has raised more than $400,000. The ride has visited a number of locations across the US and Canada including New England, the Pacific Northwest, the southwest, and the upper midwest.
