The Long Reach Long Riders Announce the Route for their 2014 Charity Motorcycle RideThe 11th annual Long Reach Long Rider charity motorcycle ride, dubbed "Carpe Twisty," will visit the mid-Atlantic states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Starting and ending in Baltimore, Maryland, the riders will experience the big sweeping two-lane backroads through the farmlands of Pennsylvania, the challenging curves of the West Virginia mountains, and even a jaunt over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The ride begins on Saturday, July 12, and ends on Friday, July 18, 2014. The traditional meet and greet day will be Friday, July 11 in Baltimore. "We're really excited about the ride this year" commented Kacey Coffin, one of the two ride marshals for this year. "The variety of roads on this route means there will be something for everyone, no matter what their skill level." Moe Conn, the other ride marshal, noted, "In addition to the great riding, we also have some tours and side trips planned. These include a tour of the Harley Davidson factory in York, Pennsylvania, a visit to the Smooth Ambler Spirits distillery in Lewisburg, West Virginia and a stop at the Flight 93 Memorial in Stoystown, Pennsylvania. The Long Reach Long Riders have been raising money and awareness for two charities, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program since 2004. In the first ten years the group has raised over $400,000. Loren Schreiber, one of the founding members observed: "It is an honor and privilege to ride for these two very worthy organizations. The work they do for people in crisis is nothing short of amazing. The fact that the riders are a terrific bunch of people and the ride is great fun is simply icing on the cake."
