Events Evolution Creates Uplifting Looks for Nigerian Star Sinach with Chauvet Professional

Sinach performance

Throughout her career spanning 15 years and nine studio albums, Sinach has garnered recognition far beyond the borders of her native Nigeria. Take her 2015 hit "Way Maker;" aside from being covered by over 60 international Christian artists, such as Michael W. Smith and Darlene Zschech, it was also named "Song of the Year" at the 51st GMA Dove Award, a feat which ultimately culminated in special recognition by the US Congress for her contribution to gospel music.

In recent years, Sinach's viral growth on platforms such as YouTube -- where she consistently enjoys over 100 million views for her music videos -- has undoubtedly succeeded in adding to the artist's international fanbase. While this feat is nothing short of impressive; fans of Sinach would argue that it is, in fact, her live shows that offer the most authentic experience of this renowned artist.

This was clearly evident to all who attended Sinach's recent "It's Time" concert at The Rainbow Towers in the Zimbabwean capital. Supporting her performance and accentuating its all-embracing warmth and passion was a light and video show by Blessing Bero and Tatenda Gaylord Rushwaya of Events Evolution.

Anchoring their show with over 50 Chauvet Professional fixtures from Events Evolution's own inventory, the designers worked around a centrally positioned patchwork of LED video panels, which in itself served as a key focal point, enlivening the stage colorful moving images. The designers complemented these displays with a deftly balanced blend of key lighting, aerial effects, washes, gobo patterns, and specials.

Helping this accomplish this was a mix of 10 Rogue R1 Beam fixtures along with four Rogue R2 Beam units and eight Rogue R2 Spots were spread across the breadth of the stage for this purpose. These fixtures were positioned between the LED video panels, as well as on overhead truss, their intense white beams providing a stark contrast to the color displayed on the tiles, while also adding a sense of depth to the stage.

To underline the dynamism of each individual Sinach song, the designers created different moods through color washes. A collection of four centrally positioned Rogue R2 Wash fixtures and eight COLORado 2-Quad Zoom was used for this effect, often covering the stage with monochromatic schemes such as all green or all purple. Along with these colorful displays, the designers wove an engaging matrix of looks with gobo patterns created with their Maverick MK2 Spot fixtures.

Positioned on the stage deck and also along the runway structure where Sinachi would often get closer to the audience. At these points, the Events Evolution team created some majestic crossing patterns to create a glamorous aura on the runway. Well-timed aerial effects added to this impression, providing a perfect setting for a very special night featuring one of Africa's most famous and beautiful voices.
