Duel Role in Czech Sports Bar for Anolis

Architect Karel Janca decided on a fresh approach when he was asked to design a new interior scheme for the Duel Sports Bar in the town of Zubri, Czech Republic.

An Anolis LED lighting scheme is an integral part of the new look and feel for the bar and eatery, owned by local entrepreneur Rene Doricak and frequented by sports enthusiasts and a young crowd from the local area.

Duel is adjacent to a sports hall run by the city of Zubri, located in-between two Moravian towns - the historically significant Rožnov pod Radhoštem and the commercial center of Valašské Mezirící.

Janca approached Anolis' Czech and Slovak Republic sales manager Petr Kolmacka, and together they discussed the best possible LED lighting solution.

Janca wanted to use power-efficient "green" lighting to add zest, energy and fun to his newly created interior, which includes colors like lime green, white, and yellow with natural wood finishes, topped off with an eye-catching steel architectural feature in the center of the space.

He also wanted the lighting to help capture the excitement and vibe of sports events featured on the big screens in Duel, and to compliment the natural light which streams in through the windows running all down one side of the long strip-like space, and the artificial light entering from the windows the other side, which directly overlooks the sports hall.

Above the bar is a frosted Perspex light box which contains ten Anolis ArcLinks, and the bar itself contains another ten ArcLinks. The bottle shelves at the back of the bar are up-lit with 12 ArcLinks - which is a very versatile fixture in the Anolis range that can be fitted into just about anywhere ... with an extremely bright output.

At the top of the entrance stairs - Duel is on the first floor of the building - illuminating a light wall feature is a single Anolis ArcLine 36 RGB Optic fixture with 25-degree lenses. This is so bright and effective that one unit is perfect for the application. An Anolis ArcPower 36 is supplied for control.

Kolmacka comments, "It's the first use of Anolis in a bar venue in the region, and is very different from anything else, consequently, the lighting is having a huge impact and really making people talk."
