Theatre Projects' Denver Office Welcomes Chris Moore Theatre Projects' Denver team has finished unpacking boxes, settled into their new home, and held a "happy hour" housewarming party with some nearby friends and colleagues. And now they have one more thing to celebrate -- Chris Moore has joined their new Denver office on a full-time basis. Some may already recognize Moore's name. He's been working with Theatre Projects part time for over five years as an AV designer, so he's already familiar with Theatre Projects' venues, clients, and collaborators. In fact, he originally started his relationship with Theatre Projects when he was the premier head sound engineer at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Theatre Projects' principal Millie Dixon and senior consultants Aaron Wong and Ali Mignone are excited to be working alongside Moore in the Denver office, and they're also looking forward to extending Theatre Projects' AV services. With an impressive resume working on state-of-the-art audiovisual systems in every venue type imaginable (including arenas, stadiums, arts centers, cruise ships, houses of worship, corporate headquarters, and hotels), Moore brings invaluable experience to Theatre Projects. He's previously worked on two Dragone productions, The House of Dancing Water in Macau and The Dai Show in Xishuangbanna, China, as well as for the world tour of Russian pop star Philipp Kirkorov. Before joining Theatre Projects full time, Moore was a system designer with Meyer Sound Labs working on high-profile projects like Ford Field in Detroit and the Loeb Theatre in Boston. He's also been the director of operations for a worldwide AV integration company. But Moore brings more to Theatre Projects' team than just know-how and experience -- he also has a dry sense of humor and loves the great outdoors. Theatre Projects is looking forward to introducing him to more clients and collaborators. In the meantime, here's a little bit more about him: Q: Denver has an active pop, jazz, folk, and classical music scene. What's your favorite music style, and do you think you'll be able to find a good music spot somewhere nearby? A: I love experiencing live music in small, intimate bar atmospheres. No matter what kind of music is playing, you get so much more bang for your buck in that kind of environment -- it's relaxed and intimate. Q: What are you looking forward to most about Denver and its surroundings? A: I'm an off-grid kind of guy when I'm not working, so I'm looking forward to the bounty of outdoor things that Denver has to offer. I'm looking forward to backpacking with my family, hiking, fishing, riding my motorcycle... Q: There are lots of sports teams in Denver. Do you plan on watching many live games? A: Yes! I used to support Atlanta's hockey team (the Thrashers), but they moved to Winnipeg a few years ago when they were sold to a Canadian-based group, so I lost my local team. I'm excited to have a new local team to support, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Colorado Avalanche play.
