Singer/actor Justin Timberlake used the Audio-Technica 5000 Series wireless with AEW-T6100a hypercardioid dynamic handheld microphone/transmitter, during the opening performance of the 89th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater on February 26, 2017, in Hollywood, California. Timberlake performed his hit "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from the animated film Trolls. The cut was nominated in the category Best Original Song.
