Premier Event Technology, LMG, and EventEQ Support 2016 Championship Celebration of the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers celebrated the end to their 52-year Championship drought in downtown Cleveland, drawing more than 1.3 million fans and supporters. The two-mile parade commemorated past and present champions, culminating with a rally on the Cleveland Mall. ETP companies, Premier Event Technology, LMG, and EventEQ partnered with George P. Johnson, the overall production company to execute this event by providing audio, video, lighting, and LED to welcome home the 2016 NBA Champions.

With Premier Event Technology's existing client relationship with the Cavaliers ownership, the full resources of the ETP brands were brought in to provide technical solutions for the celebration. "In a collaborative effort of all ETP companies, from point of contact to execution we helped put together a celebration of the Cleveland Cavaliers historic NBA title win in less than 5 days," said LMG's account manager, Andrea Jepson. "With all hands on deck we pulled together the lighting, video, and audio support for the main stage and delay audio and video for all of the Cleveland Mall. Celebrating with 1.3 million fans personifies teamwork in every way."

The two large, LED walls adjacent to the main stage featured LMG's new ROE Visual 5MM LED tiles that allowed fans to easily view the live feeds from every angle. Four additional 7.5MM LED walls were used as delay screens and were placed around the surrounding areas in Mall A and B.

For sound reinforcement, LMG and Premier hung over 90 speaker cabinets throughout Mall A, B, and C in the Cleveland Mall. The main stage included 2 main hangs of 12 L-Acoustic K1 with KARA out fills and down fills with 24 L-Acoustic SB28 subwoofers.

Delay audio towers were constructed with 12 L-Acoustics V-DOSC over 3 dV-DOWNs. The AVID Venue Profile console was used to mix the monitors including a downstage mix with 6 L-Acoustics 115XT and side fills of ARCs over SB218. To reinforce audio from the main stage, LMG included 2 hangs of 3 d&b audiotechnik J-SUBs over 12 d&b audiotechnik J8s provided by EventEQ in Mall A. Mall C was covered with 2 hangs of 9 d&b audiotechnik Q series. The sound system was fed with a DiGiCo SD9 and AVID Venue Profile console for entertainment.

To enhance the event, the lighting consisted of VL4000 spots, VLX LED Washes, Nitro 510 Vari-Lite binders, VL2500 spots, and the GrandMA console.

LMG worked alongside the Cavaliers Broadcast truck and Fox Sports Ohio Broadcast for video switching.

"This was quite a remarkable event made possible by extraordinary teamwork from LMG, Premier, and EventEQ," said LMG's director of audio, Shane Smith. "The expertise of the onsite technical team and logistical support from all offices were key to our success."
