The Long Reach Long Riders Complete Ninth Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride The Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR) are very happy to announce the successful completion of their 9th annual charity motorcycle ride. The ride, which benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program, started in Seattle, Washington on August 4 and ended in Seattle on August 11. To date in 2012, the LRLR have raised over $45,000. The ride this year included 19 bikes, two chase cars and two ferries ( a first for the LRLR). There were seven Harleys, six Hondas, four BMWs and two Suzukis. The top ten sites visited by the LRLR this year were: 10) The Salish Sea 9) The "Octopus" Tree 8) Mt. St Helens 7) The Strait of Georgia 6) Cape Meares 5) Crown Point and the Columbia River Gorge (a tie) 4) Cape Flattery 3) Oregon Shakespeare Festival 2) Mt. Rainier 1) Crater Lake The ride, which was dubbed Ninth by Northwest by ride coordinators Greg Williams and Alice Neff, covered over 2,000 land miles and 52 nautical knots. In a new development, two chase car drivers got some motorcycle time during the ride. The Long Reach Long Riders would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's ride a resounding success.
