Following a Successful First Leg, Dates Confirmed for 2nd Phase of ADJ's Step into the Light Road Tour

The first series of dates on ADJ's Step Into The Light Road Tour, which took place over the summer, were a resounding success, the company says. Each event attracted an engaged group of local lighting professionals who enjoyed the opportunity to learn, network and check out the latest ADJ fixtures. ADJ now announces the next phase of tour dates. In September and October, the ADJ team will visit Phoenix, Chicago, Las Vegas, Houston and Portland, while a third phase of dates will be confirmed later in the year.

Each stop on the Step Into The Light road tour provides an opportunity for lighting professionals to gather and network, discover the latest ADJ fixtures and learn about some of the technology behind them from a series of short but information-packed educational presentations. These free to attend events are usually hosted at the facility of one of ADJ's local partners. Open to all lighting professionals -- including LDs, techs, and production/rental company owners and managers -- as well as students studying entertainment technology, these informal gatherings provide a hub for the industry to gather locally. They also offer an opportunity to see firsthand ADJ's latest fixture releases, including the Vizi Beam CMY, Focus Spot 7Z and Vizi Beam RX2 automated luminaires, the IP65-rated Hydro Hybrid, Jolt Panel FXIP and Jolt Bar FXIP, and the high resolution WMS2 LED video panel and Pixie Curve 60 90-degree curved LED pixel batten.

Each event also features a series of short educational presentations covering the following topics: IP65: What and Why?: Following a quick explanation of exactly what IP65 means, this session covers the advantages of choosing fixtures from ADJ's IP65-rated range. These luminaires offer more rugged housings that are "weatherproof" and therefore ideal for exterior use and for production applications. They are also a great choice for permanent indoor installation as their sealed casings prevent the ingress of dust, which allows for a reduced maintenance schedule.

LED Video Panels: Setup & Control: LED panels provide a flexible and scalable solution for displaying video content but can be complex to configure. This session provides a brief explanation of sending/receiving cards in processors and panels, as well as explaining the process of configuring your video wall with Nova LCT. It also covers factoring pixel counts, limitations of processors and selecting the right processor for the job, as well as understanding redundancy with LED video.

The Importance of Quality of Light: Busting through the jargon, this session explains CRI and TM30 as well as how they are used to measure a fixture's ability to render colors accurately. It also covers CCT (Correlated Color Temperature), Lumens and Lux, including an explanation of how to interpret these figures for different applications, and provides guidance on understanding a Photometric Chart.

Introducing Aria X2: Following a brief recap on the evolution of wireless DMX and fixture management offered by ADJ Group over the years, this session introduces the new Aria X2 wireless management suite. It explains mesh network technology, frequency agility, and the many benefits and practical applications offered by Aria X2, including wireless DMX with RDM, remote fixture configuration via BTA and OTA firmware updates. It also explains how to integrate existing WiFly fixtures -- as well as other wireless DMX systems -- with Aria X2.
