Audinate's Dante Virtual Soundcard Wins Readers Choice Award Audinate's Dante Virtual Soundcard was awarded the 2010 Pro Sound Web/Live Sound International's Readers Choice Award for best networking technology. ProSoundWeb and Live Sound International announced the winners of the second annual Reader's Choice Awards recognizing products catering to audio engineers in the live, installed, and recorded sound industries. The Dante Virtual Soundcard software allows you to connect your PC/Mac to a Dante audio network. It uses the Ethernet port on the computer to communicate with a network of other Dante enabled devices. No special hardware is required other than installing Dante Virtual Soundcard on a conventional PC or Mac. It can enable up to 64 x 64 channels of uncompressed audio, enabling engineers to use their PC/Mac as either an audio source for playback, or destination source for applications such as recording. Z "We are honored by this award," says David Myers, Audinate's COO. "The real winners are the many people worldwide who are using this ground breaking technology everyday in all facets of audio recording or play-out." Audio applications use the Dante Virtual Soundcard as they would any standard ASIO or Core Audio sound card. Popular applications like Cubase, Nuendo and Logic, or ProTools 9 can transmit and receive up to 64 channels to networked audio equipment via the Dante Virtual Soundcard. .
