Carrie Cavins Joins ETC as Architectural Field Project CoordinatorETC bolstered its growing architectural lighting division with the addition of Carrie Cavins as an architectural field project coordinator. Cavins will provide support, advice, and education for ETC's architectural line of products to its extensive network of reps, dealers, and specifiers. While technically part of the ETC Hollywood office, Cavins will mainly work from her home office in Houston. "I am very excited that Carrie has joined ETC," said Karl Haas, national architectural sales manager for ETC. "Her experience in architectural lighting, technical expertise, and commitment to bettering the lighting design community make her an amazing new member of our team." "I've worked with ETC products throughout my theatrical career and I am excited to start a new path with the architectural product line," added Cavins. Cavins began her lighting studies with a bachelor of arts (theatre) at the University of Tulsa -- with a minor in communications (media). Having completed a master of fine arts (theatre lighting design) at California State University in Long Beach, Cavins has been active in the lighting community since 2001 and in the Houston area since 2006 -- designing lighting, working at a lighting rep agency, and also as a specifier, freelancing with various theatrical houses and supporting the local IES Chapter -- where she currently serves as president and educational chair. Cavins has strong knowledge of AGi32 and has been working extensively in producing AGi32 photometric layouts and renderings.
