MEGA-LITE Sponsored the Expo Stage at USITT 2025Last weekend, MEGA-LITE had the opportunity to light up the Expo Stage at USITT 2025, where a series of conferences took place during the expo. Starting with The Psychology of Stupidity, an interactive workshop where attendees learned to design better systems to ensure safety in workspaces, presented by Risky Business Resources. Following with A Day on Tour: Learning the Rules of the Road with Touring Professionals, presented by Crossroads Live North America, a team at the forefront of producing and managing Broadway tours across the country and around the world. Also, The Battle of the Beams, an exhibit showcasing cutting-edge moving lights, with Tony Award-winning Broadway lighting designer Jeff Croiter as the special guest. To bring to life this installation, where multiple learning sessions took place, the lighting designer, James Nealy from the MEGA team, arranged: Six Outerbot Wash 340 luminaires on the upstage truss span; six Light Pipes of 2', 4', and 6' long on the stage deck, each topped with a Deco Vintage Scoop Q32 to create a lollipop look; six Outshine Pixel Strip Q360 fixtures placed on the floor behind the stage to light the backdrop.; six Framebots 600, four Colorlite Q120, and four Teclight BVW150 featured on the front-of-house truss span, serving as houselights; one additional Light Truss, flown overhead, featuring another four Teclights and four Colorlite Q120. For control, they implemented the MEGA Console running the latest version of LUMEN8, an advanced software for production and theatrical lighting control. "It was super exciting to see the fresh crop of lighting designers getting hands-on experience with the MEGA-LITE product. Watching the Penn State students rock the stage with the advanced features of MEGA Control and MEGA-LITE fixtures to whip up some awesome looks for various presentations was so fulfilling. Can't wait to dive back into it all over again next year!" says Nealy.
