Meyer Sound Names Luke Jenks Director of Product Management

Luke Jenks, Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound has promoted Luke Jenks to the newly created position of director of product management. Most recently serving as the company's loudspeaker product manager, Jenks now represents the full range of company solutions, from loudspeakers to show control, system optimization, and passive and active acoustic systems.

As director of product management, Jenks is responsible for defining market needs, articulating customer requirements, and representing customer feedback throughout the lifecycle of a product. He also assumes direction of a newly formed product management team that encompasses market requirement definition, new product introductions, and technical documentation. The team includes Richard Bugg, audio show control product manager; Todd Meier, digital products manager; Greg Thomas, technical writer; and Rong Wang, new product introduction technical project manager.

"Luke is intimately familiar with our products at all levels, but more importantly, he has served as the important bridge between customers and engineering to help translate the needs and challenges on the ground into practical and complete solutions," says Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound executive vice president. "There is no better suited candidate than Luke to help drive our product strategy and ensure customer success throughout the product lifecycle."

Jenks began his career at Meyer Sound in loudspeaker assembly in 1989 before working as an engineering technician and technical support associate. He was later appointed to director of European technical support, and was based in France for nine years. As loudspeaker product manager since 2010, Jenks was principally responsible for launching the company's new generation of line array systems: the LEO linear large-scale linear reinforcement system, the LYON linear sound reinforcement system, and the 1100-LFC low-frequency control element.

"Meyer Sound has never been afraid to disrupt the status quo, and we are fortunate to be able to do this with the input of our many talented users who push the envelope of sound in all types of environments," says Jenks. "As we work on advancing next-generation linear systems and low-frequency technology, now is a more exciting time than ever to work here. I look forward to helping deliver more cutting-edge solutions for our customers' projects."
