Lawo Debuts the All New V_pro8 Eight Channel Video Processing Toolkit at ISE 2017At this year's ISE show at stand V210 (Hall 7) in Amsterdam running through February 10, Lawo debuts its V__pro8 eight-channel video processing tool armed with a comprehensive software update. With its latest update, Lawo's V__pro8 became even more powerful, further increasing its features-per-RU density. Among the latest additions is an updated AV sync tool, which, in addition to the native V__line sync pattern and the EBU pattern, can now also read the Vistek VALID8 format. Furthermore, the integrated quad-split multiviewer now also features multi-colored tally lamps, which are switchable via Ember+, allowing to integrate the MV tally in the overall tally system of the user's installation. The V__pro8 is the perfect tool to connect different video formats as well as to connect between audio and video. High quality format conversion, color correction, as well as audio embedding and de-embedding make the V__pro8 a compact and powerful video processor, building bridges between different worlds and formats. The powerful video / audio router of the 19"/1RU device provides an internal 8x8 video routing matrix and a 384x384 audio matrix. The in-built frame-synchronizers are syncing the incoming independent free running signals to the same reference (Blackburst or TriLevel) whereas the variable video and audio delays for compensating latencies and lip-sync match between incoming or outgoing audio (up to 320ms delay) and video (up to eight frames delay) signals. In order to automatically compensate for the internal video latency there is an internal AudioFollowVideo delay mode available. The V__pro8 provides (De-) embedders with SRC to embed, de-embed, and shuffle any of the 16 audio channels within the eight SDI input/output streams simultaneously and interfacing the audio to mixing consoles or external audio routers via MADI. When it comes to Dolby, the Dolby E auto aligner automatically adjusts the timing of Dolby streams. In addition, the V__pro8 can be enhanced with a Dolby E encoding/decoding option, providing fully compatible en-/decoding of professional quality multi-channel audio on a single AES3 connection with Dolby E metadata handling. The surround downmix provides two automated Lawo-quality 5.1/7.1 to stereo downmixes per embedder. With the timecode insertion capabilities, users can choose between ATC LTC / VITC1 / VITC2 insertion from an input signal or free run mode or from internal timecode generator. The test pattern and video ID generator provide video ID insertions (text, source, date, timecode, time of day) and color bar test pattern as well as a selection of audio test tones and AV sync test pattern. The unit can be further enhanced with optional features such as high-quality up/down/cross and AR format converter, quadsplit multi-viewer, waveform and vectorscope displays, RGB and YUV color-correction and proc-amp. The V__pro8 can be configured via the optional V__fp1 front panel with an integrated headphone connector and a high-res OLED display that provides thumbnail motion previews of video signals as well as direct configuration of the unit. Alternatively, the unit can be configured by an easy-to-understand HTML five-based touchscreen-optimized web-GUI. This provides thumbnail previews of all incoming and outgoing signals and due to its web-based approach enables the user to access all V__line devices from anywhere within the network -- a feature especially useful in bigger set-ups or in larger installations with long-distance links. The V__pro8 fully supports the Ember+ protocol, enabling the device to be controlled by external master control systems, as for instance Lawo's VSM. This allows operators to easily access multiple device parameters along with other routing parameters of the installation via a single, integrated interface. In addition, the user gets access to the V__pro8's thumbnails and peak meters within the VSM desktop environment. See the latest Lawo tools and solutions at ISE 2017, booth V210 in Hall 7.
