Hitachi Introduces CP-D31N Short Throw Series 3LCD Projector

Hitachi America, Ltd., digital media division, business solutions group announces the introduction of its CP-D31N short throw series 3LCD projector, the company says combines the convenience of short-throw projection capability with networking functionality and versatile features.

The Hitachi CP-D31N can project an 80" image at a short throw distance of just 32", making it ideal for education, business, and commercial applications when space is limited yet where large, clear, and bright images are required. The CP-D31N's ability to be mounted close to a projection screen or whiteboard prevents obstructed images and shadows and avoids shining light in the presenter's eyes.

The CP-D31N offers network connectivity via an RJ-45 Ethernet jack for connection to a local area network (LAN), allowing content to be sent directly from a computer to the projector via the network, and facilitating monitoring and maintenance via the LAN. Hitachi's PJMessenger function allows text messages and audio alerts to be sent on all networked projectors, an effective way to send announcements throughout an entire campus or facility.

The projector provides native 4:3, 16:9, and 16:10 compatible XGA resolution with up to 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness and offers connections including HDMI, S-Video and composite video inputs, an RGB computer input, RCA and mini-jack audio inputs, and a computer monitor output. In addition, an RS-232 port enables integrated system control when used with control systems including Crestron and AMX.

The CP-D31N includes numerous additional performance and convenience features. The projector has a built-in 10W audio amplifier that eliminates the need to connect external speakers, with audio pass-through capability that enables the CP-D31N to output audio while in standby mode. Hitachi's exclusive template function projects four types of line templates, making it easier to write on a whiteboard.

Hitachi's input source naming feature lets the user customize the names of input sources instead of using the factory default settings, and the included remote control has customizable MyButton, MySource, and other keys to create shortcuts to frequently used functions and sources. The CP-D31N is compatible with the Crestron RoomView Express and AMX device discovery protocols, to facilitate its integration into A/V systems using Crestron or AMX control. Additional useful features include a transition detector that disables the projector if it is moved without authorization, a power saving Eco standby mode, a hybrid filter that provides up to 4,000 hours between maintenance, and more.
