GoVision Celebrates Ten Years

GoVision LP, a supplier of customized modular LED walls and turnkey mobile LED units, marked its first decade at its Argyle, Texas, headquarters on March 23. More than 300 invited guests -- including clients, equipment vendors, local dignitaries, and employees -- were treated to a catered dinner while the NCAA men's basketball tournament was displayed on more than a dozen giant video screens scattered throughout the facility.

"In keeping with our philosophy of 'going big,' we wanted to throw a party that everyone would remember," said Chris Curtis, founder and CEO of GoVision. "We're really proud of what our little ole company from Argyle, Texas, has accomplished over the past ten years. We've played a key role in some of the biggest and most high-profile events in North America thanks to the professionalism of our team, the loyalty of our clients, the caliber of our technology, and our relentless pursuit of perfection in the unpredictable event business."

GoVision has rented truck-mounted and/or modular LED screens to more than 1,800 events and shows in its first 10 years -- an average of an event every other day. Its trucks could have circled the globe 56 times, or made two-and-a-half trips to the moon and back, over the past decade. Its screens have entertained crowds in Canada, Mexico and all but five states.

The company has provided high-definition video screens to the last two presidential inaugurations, Major League Baseball and NBA All Star Games, Super Bowls, NASCAR races, concert tours, arts and music festivals, and corporate events.

GoVision's team constructed the world's tallest free-standing LED screen for the Boy Scouts' 100th Anniversary Jamboree, and the world's longest LED screen for a National Business Aviation Association show. Its screens have floated on a barge for a Jimmy Buffett concert, and on an aircraft carrier for a nationally televised college basketball game.

"It's been an incredible run so far, and, frankly, I think it only gets better from here," said Curtis. "We took a hit to our margins during the recession, but top-line revenue kept growing, and we've continued to expand our inventory. Now, as the economy picks up, we're poised to be one of the most dominant players in our industry."

GoVision has eight truck-mounted, high-definition LED units and an array of high-resolution, indoor/outdoor modular LED tiles. Its innovative partnerships with the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Christian University provide access to modular panels that GoVision's technicians remove from their respective stadiums when not in use to add to its rental inventory.

"Given all the modular tiles we have at our disposal, there's really no event that we can't handle," said Curtis. "Our goal has never been to be the biggest company in the industry," he continued. "We just want to be the best. And, well, I think we've succeeded."
