COVID-19 Update: Special Lightwright License Available to Students for Distance Learning Many colleges and universities who use Lightwright are now conducting classes remotely, which means their students do not have access to the school's computer lab and Lightwright licenses. Therefore, John McKernon, creator of Lightwright, has made the following offer. "If you are currently learning remotely without access to your school's computers or school's Lightwright license, you can now access Lightwright 6 software with a special emergency Lightwright license through June 1, 2020." "Here's how to use it: "* Download and install the public beta of Lightwright 6.0.30.344, available by clicking on the URL listed below at left. Older versions of Lightwright will not work with this emergency license." "* Download the .lwtrn file using this link: Lightwright License Exp 6-1-20.LWtrn, which can be found at www.mckernon.com. "* Put the .LWtrn file in either your documents folder or on your computer's desktop. Depending on your operating system, it may work in one location but not the other." "* Launch Lightwright. There is nothing else to do." bit.ly/3dbQFQt The license expires June 1, 2020 and is not renewable. Regular and student licenses are still available as usual from any City Theatrical dealer worldwide. Complete info on how to download and use the temporary license can be found at the URL below.
