DiGiCo Squares Up for Prolight + Sound 2014 with New D2-RackHall 8.0, stand 8.0 at Prolight + Sound 2014 sees digital solutions manufacturer DiGiCo exhibiting with new German distributor united-b, launching its new D2-Rack, and announcing a number of new software features and an expansion of a third party development project. The British manufacturer has also added a second 60m2 exhibition stand adjacent to the main united-b stand at Hall 8.0, stand G56. This newly designed area allows customers a hands-on, in-depth look at selected consoles during Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, March 12 - 15. Previewed at ISE2014, and designed to support and expand Digico's SD Range's higher sample rate I/O solutions, the D2-Rack comes with either BNC or Cat5 MADI connections, allowing it to be used with a number of Digico consoles. By using the latest convertors found in Digico's SD Racks, the D2-Rack offers a more compact, more efficient, more affordable rack solution for connection at either 48kHz or 96kHz with no I/O reduction. The D2-Rack offers two I/O versions: • 48 mic inputs • 16 line outputs • Two blank output slots allowing an additional 16 outputs in the owners desired format -- analog, AES, and Aviom Or • 24 mic inputs • 24 AES inputs • 16 line outputs • Two blank output slots allowing an additional 16 outputs in the owners desired format -- analog, AES, and Aviom The D2 Rack is currently available for use with SD8 and SD9 systems. The D2-Rack updates your SD8 system with a 96kHz rack option. This allows the user to take advantage of the recent increases in the SD8's stealth digital processing with a no compromise approach to 96kHz. A new system will be introduced that includes the SD8 surface with the D2-Rack with a system price advantage. Following on from the success of the SD9 Rack Pack system Digico announces the launch of the SD9 D2-Rack system. This will be available with either rack option and will provide a more cost effective single rack solution. "The D2-Rack means we are able to open up the full 96kHz potential of the SD8, SD9, and SD11 with this next generation of I/O conversion is an impressive upgrade," says Digico managing director James Gordon. "The D2-Rack allows users to get unrivaled audio quality at a total system latency of just over 1ms. It was very well received at ISE and we're anticipating even higher level of interest at Prolight + Sound." "We're also excited to be exhibiting with united-b for the first time. The team has worked hard to put together a fantastic, new-look stand which brings a new dimension to our presence at Prolight + Sound."
