Lighting Designer Marilyn Lowey Seeking Material Contributions for New Art Installation

Do the eyes tell the brain what it sees, or does the brain instruct the eyes?

Art and lighting designer Marilyn Lowey is working on a new art installation and is seeking materials' contributions. Including all types of theatrical glass lenses: broken, whole, all sizes; plus roundels: all sizes, colors and clear. Shipping and packing will be paid for. Contact marilyn@marilynlowey.com, www.marilynlowey.com/.

As a lighting designer, Lowey spent 38 years working on Neil Diamond's touring shows. She has also been the resident lighting designer for the Cleveland San Jose Ballet. Other credits include Lido de Paris, Siegfried and Roy's World Tour, Diana Ross and the Supremes' Return to Love Tour, George Lucas Superlive Adventure, Champions on Ice, and Star Trek: The Adventure, among others.

Lowey creates installations that investigate sculptural geometric light forms. By using the conventions of lighting she generates three dimensional forms on two dimensional surfaces. A viewer's perception is thus confounded. Do the eyes tell the brain what it sees, or does the brain instruct the eyes?
