Philips Vari-Lite VL4000 Spot Luminaire's Showcase at PLASA 2014The latest addition to the Vari-LitePLASA London by storm where it will be showcased on the Philips Entertainment stand L80 at ExCeL Exhibition Center October 5 - 8. PLASA London visitors will be able to see the VL4000 Spot in action during the twice daily light shows at the Philips stand, getting to grips with all its exciting features, including its high-resolution optics, which ensure remarkable center-to-edge focusing and an unprecedented contrast ratio, and a 5:1 zoom covering according to the company, 9- to 47-degrees without sacrificing output or clarity. The VL4000 Spot also boasts an entirely new color mixing system, which is smooth whether operating in a slow fade or instant snap, as well as variable CTO color temperature correction and dual five-position color wheels. The dual opposing fixed color wheels achieve unique color effects, providing a multitude of combinations. With its standard output of 33,000 lumens and an ultra quiet 25,000 lumens studio mode, the VL4000 Spot luminaire is the ideal tool for creating dynamic and useful lighting on any stage. It's also easy-to-use with intuitive DMX mapping and its battery-backed full-color LCD display. Michael Murnane was the first lighting designer worldwide to use the VL4000 Spot luminaire, employing it on the Best Buy Charity Classic gala and concert: "It's amazing the number of color changes and gobo changes that the VL4000 Spot is capable of and it's all so fast. The speed of the head is a game-changer in my opinion. I actually think if I got to spend a week with the fixture I could get it to do a lot of things that people haven't even thought about yet." Murnane worked with Clearwing Productions to get his hands on the VL4000 Spot. "In my experience of being an early adopter of product innovations from Philips Vari-Lite, I can honestly say the VL4000 Spot sets a new standard," says Clearwing's business development manager Aaron Hubbard. "It's not only faster, brighter, quieter, lighter, and more feature rich than the world renowned Series 3000 luminaires, but is also proving to be the most robust fixture to date." PLASA London takes place October 5 - 8, 2014. The Philips Entertainment stand L80 can be found in the center back of the hall.
