In addition to two black box venues, UCSD and the Tony Award winning La Jolla Playhouse share a four-theatre complex. Students also have access to the cutting-edge research facilities and production spaces of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (CalIt2) and the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts (CRCA) at UCSD. Student designers participate in a residency program at the Playhouse, and normally work as assistants to visiting professional designers.
