Profile:
The Entertainment Services and Technology Association is a non-profit trade association based in North America with members around the world. ESTA's members are responsible for creating some of the most important programs in our industry including the Technical Standards Program (TSP), Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP), and Rental Guard. Membership in ESTA supports: increasing safety through the development of standards and certifications; educating members and providing business resources to increase profitability; representing the interests of the industry to government, regulatory bodies, and related industries; and raising the bar for ethical and professional behavior.

Recent Projects:
ETCP (etcp.esta.org) offers certifications for Arena Riggers, Theatre Riggers, Entertainment Electricians, and Portable Power Distribution Technicians. Examinations are available at over 190 computer-based testing centers or by paper and pencil for groups. The Technical Standards Program's American National Standards are available free of charge, thanks to ProSight Specialty Insurance, at tsp.esta.org/freestandards. Working Groups include Control Protocols, Electrical Power, Floors, Fog and Smoke, Followspot Position, Photometrics, Rigging, Stage Lifts, and the new Event Safety.
